Advertising report

Reason for choosing the advertisement?
The true reason that I picked this advertisement was because I didn't have enough
time to select a profound one, therefore, I went through my bookshelf finding out
there was an Australian official issued travel guild book called "After dark",
it tells you where to go and look for fun after dims. Mostly, the pictures that
gathered in the book are sort of like this one. When I saw this pic, it really caught
my eyes for the first sight and as for an assignment; I supposed it should be an
interesting one to show you guys.

The effectiveness of the advertisement?
The idea of this ad is to sell a door to door service, you only give them a ring to
order a guy for accompany, they will deliver him right at your door, it does look
like a very private business to be conducted, it gives the chance for those who
do not want to show their true
identity, but can still make a deal.

Areas of improvement for this advertisement?
As for a pornography ad, the concept they are trying to sell is pretty clear,
however, in the ad, it only says it takes 5 mins to downtown CBD, but didn't
give the certain address of itself, it left me to think, whether they don't want to
give out their company info, or it is just a fraud.

My opinion of the advertisement?
In my opinion, this ad is totally not my cup of tea, but as sexual industry has long been
carrying out all around the world, I supposed that in Sydney, it is more publicity
acceptable to promote this biz than in Taiwan.

What is "Doukona"?

While I was reading teacher Sarah's outside reading "Jamaica Kingcaid---Girl".

I looked up for the word "Doukona", it seems like not a pure English,I didn't know what it means. As I followed the trail to find out there is an explaination says :

"Doukona" is a variant of "dokunu" in Jamaica, a kind of pudding made from starchy food which is sweetened, spiced, and traditionally wrapped in plantain...or banana leaf. A favorite black dish, it can be boiled, baked,or roasted. There is a great deal of variance in the way African terms are rendered into all the languages and pidgins spoken in the Caribbean.
