New Friends and Old Friends

by Joseph Parry

Make new friends, but keep the old;
Those are silver, these are gold.
New-made friendships, like new wine,
Age will mellow and refine.
Friendships that have stood the test -
Time and change - are surely best;
Brow may wrinkle, hair grow gray,
Friendship never knows decay.
For 'mid old friends, tried and true,
Once more we our youth renew.
But old friends, alas! may die,
New friends must their place supply.
Cherish friendship in your breast-
New is good, but old is best;
Make new friends, but keep the old;
Those are silver, these are gold.

結交新的朋友,但不要忘了老朋友;

有一天我們相聚時將再度感到年輕;

結交新的朋友,但不要忘了老朋友;

This is the poem that I learned recently, which I cherish
a lot, the literary grace is so great, I can't help but reciting
it over and over again. It's so beautiful...

Hey Lilian,

Thanks for leaving message on my blog. Well I did enjoy the time in Perth. The friends I met there still keep in touch! Let's make some time to talk more about the experience staying overseas.

Whitney
